The memories of school and my childhood are etched into my mind which I will never forget ...
... or forgive. For this is probably my biggest problem. I wanted to start a Blog, not to complain or whine, hopefully to learn to forgive and to move on. Unfortunately, what happened to me is still happening to this day in other ways and in different forms. Not just to me, but to other people.
Bullying by other students was a daily occurrence for me. There were times when I would wake up on Monday mornings after an enjoyable weekend with my family and I didn't want to go to school because I knew there would be some other students who would find some reason to bully me around. Meaning - pushing, shoving, calling bad names, spitting, etc. Not letting me get to class on time. Many times I was so afraid to even go to my locker, then I started to forget where my locker was and my combination. I was spending alot of time in the Nurse's Office. I was cutting classes just to get away.
I remember in the early years I would sit out on P.E. not just 'cause I thought it was a cool thing to do. I was sitting out so I wouldn't have to be in the same area of those students who were doing the bulling. I enjoyed running and most of all sit-ups. There was a time I did participate in P.E. and suddenly these students just started taking aim at me. I was asking myself, Why Me ?
I don't have a solution yet for this problem our society faces. All I can think of is "Educating Everyone" about what "Bullying" can do. I did a search on Google for "Bullying Facts", these are some of the links I found:

Are you asking me, "Why I didn't go to someone for help?
We didn't have resources like these back in my school days and the other
Question is, Are they working? I did try, no one believed me, no one wanted to listen or help.
Example, when you take a small rock or pebble and throw it across a lake or pond. The ripples that it makes, in those days, no one wanted to make any ripples. I believe now, that the "Grown-Ups" at those schools knew and that was just part of growing up. Like the saying "Be A Man", I was just a little girl in Elementary School, the year was 1974 when this all started. I was held back, I did 2nd grade twice. I was told later it's because I was small and petite. This "Bullying" in my school days ended when I dropped out of High School, my "Senior" year 1986.
I remember laying on the cool grass during lunch time at school. I was listening to my walk-man. I had one of my favorite tapes in. I was eating my lunch alone, again. Don't get me wrong, I didn't mind being alone. There was no reason for me to be there. I had a job for awhile, I believe it was in fast-food. I had somewhere else to go. That's when I decided to leave. Right then and there. Some place I probably have the exact date written down. In all my archives, I will try my best to research and find that piece of history. My History of My Memories of School.
